In October, Chelsea and Greg headed down to Great Harbour Cay  in the Bahamas with 30 or so of their closest friends and family.  The weekend was spent soaking up the beauty of the island, enjoying the company and celebrating this great couple.  In this post, I have tried to share with you moments from Thursday evening (when all guests arrived) through Friday evening.  Saturday, wedding day, will be shared this weekend.  The photo above it my favorite that we took right after their rehearsal.

Enjoy.

The view from the eight person plane flying into the small island airport.

Our itinerary started with a cocktail party at Chelsea’s grandmother’s house (there are several photos from this event in the slideshow…for now, you get one!)

Friday morning we woke up to beauty . . .

How can you not enjoy your day when this is where you’re staying?

After lots and lots of playing in the sun, it was time for Chelsea and Greg’s rehearsal (photos in slideshow) . . .

And after the rehearsal, we headed to Cooliemae’s Restaurant for a delicious rehearsal dinner.  The sunset was incredible.

Love how her flower girl perfectly matched her rehearsal dinner outfit!!

These and many, many more photos in the slideshow below!!

Melissa and Sterling are engaged – and their good family friends hosted a party to celebrate!!

I decided to share the details in the post and allow you to see the people in the slideshow.

Congrats Sterling and Melissa – enjoy your engagement, your wedding, and your long life ahead together!

You might recognize Ben from his 2009 and 2010 family photo shoots.  He is the oldest kid and only son of the fun Strober family and he recently married his beautiful bride Alexis.  I had the honor of capturing the moments of their tropical rehearsal dinner which took place in Melbourne, FL on the back porch of the Crowne Plaza.  It was so pretty outside and such a fun rehearsal dinner with plenty of food, dancing, toasts and laughs to go around.

Congratulations Alexis and Ben!  Thanks for letting me be a part of the weekend.

a world champion

May 9, 2011

Meet Kelly.  She’s sweet, fun, beautiful – and also a national and world champion.  But seriously, unless you heard from someone else, you would never know because she is also incredibly humble.  Kelly’s focus is on others – from training clients, to coaching triathletes, to inspiring people by her amazing accomplishments – this girl loves to love on people.

I met Kelly, and her identical twin Meghan, during my freshman year at Davidson College.  They were tennis stars in doubles and singles.  Junior year Meghan went abroad and Kelly stayed at Davidson and decided to pick up track – you know, just to condition for tennis season.  Well, she led Davidson to the State Championships and later received a scholarship to continue her track – amazingness in graduate school at Duke.

In the past couple of years, Kelly began to compete in Duathlons and Triathlons.  She qualified for worlds in her first race of each.  Competing in the World Championship Duathlon Kelly crossed the finish line and looked up to realize she was 1st in her age group…World Champion.  At the World Championship race in Kona, Hawaii, Kelly placed in the top five, grabbing the attention of several sponsors who wanted her to go pro this year.  Because she was new in the sport, Kelly decided to take this year to train and learn more – but she will be going pro in the upcoming season.  Thus, she needed some professional photos to go on her current blog and future website.

We decided that it was important to capture Kelly in her comfort zone – hair pulled back, sport’s bra, athletic shorts, running shoes…but also, to get some of this beautiful girl all done up.

Enjoy!

And, if you want to check out more on my friend you can go to the following places:

1-    Kelly’s Blog

2-    Awesome Testimonial about her Accomplishments

3-    A Video of her training her Clients

4-   An article – that summarizes her to a t.

(PS…there’s a really cool photo of Kelly walking away which was supposed to be the last photo -but I’m out of town and do not have it here…SO – you will see it when I get home.  Love you Kel!

a Salty Sisters Tea Party

April 12, 2011

The incredibly talented Angelique of Salty Sisters also happens to be one of Stacey’s bridemaids – which made it perfect when she decided to host a shower for her friend.  Angelique converted her backyard into what felt like the mad hatter’s tea party – it was really creative and pretty… and such a fun way to celebrate Stacey’s last few weeks as a single lady!

If you need some creative assistance to host a party – I could not more highly recommend Salty Sisters for your needs!
