Taran and Jamion

August 4, 2011

This might be the longest wedding blog post in Life Writing Photography Wedding history.  But – I think this is also the wedding that I have taken the most photos at {ever} and that is because 1- there were two shooters (Kenzo and me) and 2- we were with Taran and Jamion for 14 hours on their big day.  Also, I have been all over the place traveling for weddings and conferences, finishing summer school papers and exams – and thus, have kept this couple waiting for almost seven weeks now, which I hate to do.  So…finally I share with you all of the unique details this awesome couple put together for their wedding.

Jamion & Taran met during their freshman year at West Virginia Wesleyan College.  Although they knew one another, they didn’t really form a friendship until junior year when they were asked to go on a date with two of their friends so that they would keep conversation going during their friends’ first date with each other.   By senior year, Taran and Jamion’s friend groups were living next door to one another and they eventually became best friends.    Slowly, although it was obvious to others for awhile, they began to realize that there was something more than a friendship between them.  They began to date after graduating from college and got engaged in December of 2009. On June 18, 2011, Taran and Jamion became husband and wife in Wesley Chapel on the campus of their beloved Alma Mater.

Before I go too much further, I have to thank Taran’s INCREDIBLE wedding coordinator – Pamela Swanson of PS Events, LLC who kept everything on track for the entire weekend.  If you’re planning a wedding in WV, I cannot recommend her more highly.  Okay, now, without further ado Taran and Jamion’s wedding day.

Everyone knows that girls’ mornings and boys’ mornings look very different on wedding days.  I had the pleasure of hanging out with the ladies while they got ready . . .

. . . and Kenzo joined the guys on the golf course.

Taran thought of everything on her wedding day.  I loved the hoodies that she bought her attendants . . .

. . . and her shoes.  I mean, I cannot say enough about her shoes.  They were the COOLEST wedding shoes I have ever seen.  They’re hand painted by Deborah of Figgie Shoes.  Seriously awesome!

Because Jamion and Taran had a large wedding party AND wanted to be able to get to their reception at a reasonable time – they decided to have a first look (this is a recommendation I have for anyone who wants more photos on the day of and has a pretty tight schedule).  So… Jamion awaited his beautiful bride . . .

and we stood back and watched as they saw one another for the first time on the day they became husband and wife.

Then we had lots of time to take advantage of photos with their best friends . . .

At 4:30pm, it was time for their ceremony to start.

Jamion and Taran’s wedding party rode in style in a stretch hummer while the lucky couple got to ride in Taran’s dad’s beautiful Corvette.  Here are some photos we snapped after the ceremony . . .

(I have to brag about this most adorable flower girl, Audree Rose.  She was such a cute, outgoing girl!  I asked the wedding party to strut their stuff and no one knew what to do so Audree Rose stepped out and front and demonstrated.  I mean, seriously – too cute!)

(Now they got it . . .)

We then headed off to Bridgeport for their incredible reception which took place at the Bridgeport Conference Center.  You can see how they planned every detail to make their reception uniquely theirs:

Dance, dance, dance.  Second to None DJ’s kept the dance floor hoppin’ all night!

And after a round of Country Roads, surrounded by their friends and family . . .

it was time to send the newly weds off in style . . .

Taran and Jamion – congratulations!!!!  We wish you many many years of happiness and blessings in your marriage.

Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your big day!
